D     1P-0520     Driver Gp     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, clean all parts thoroughly in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Lower the temperature of bearings (25) and (26) . Use Tooling (C) in order to install bearing (25) into bucket link (23) . Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearing (26) into bucket link (23) .
Lower the temperature of bearing (24) . Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearing (24) into bucket link (22) .

Install tube assemblies (18) and (19) .
Install bucket links (22) and (23) . Repeat for the other side. Install plate (21) and bolts (20) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt cylinder (11) . The bucket linkage will be installed with tilt cylinder (11) as a unit. The weight of tilt cylinder (11) and the bucket linkage is approximately 158 kg (350 lb). Install tilt cylinder (11) and the bucket linkage.

Install shims that were present during the removal procedure. Install the spacer (not shown) that is located in pin assembly (16) . Install pin assembly (16) . Install pin assembly (15) . Install pin assembly (17) .

Install the shims in order to obtain a maximum total clearance of 1.0 mm (0.04 inch). Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining rings (12) , (13) , and (14) .

Connect hose assemblies (7) and (8) . Install clamps (9) . Install bracket assembly (5) and bolts (6) . Install cable straps (10) .
