Removal Procedure

Open doors (2) and (1) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove knob (3) and cover (4) .

Note: The negative cable assembly must be disconnected first.
Disconnect cable assemblies (5). Remove nut (6) and cover (7). Use two people to remove batteries (8). The weight of each battery (8) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).Installation Procedure

Use two people to position batteries (8). The weight of each battery (8) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Install cover (7) and nut (6). Tighten nut (6) to a torque of 20 5 N m (15 4 lb ft). Connect cable assemblies (5). Tighten cable assemblies (5) to a torque of 7.2 1.6 N m (64 14 lb in).

Install cover (4) and knob (3) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

Close doors (1) and (2) .
