The gear pump that supports the steering, the brake, and the suspension system is a tandem pump with a single inlet.The pump is driven by the torque converter. The pump turns counterclockwise when you look at the rear of the pump.Oil is drawn into the pump through the inlet port by a drive gear and driven gear.Oil circulates around the gears. Then, the oil is sent through the outlet port to the metering unit and to the brake valve.The side of the tandem pump that controls flow to the suspension system sends oil to the side cutter valve (if equipped). The oil then travels to the lifting valve.
