Do not perform Option A unless the bucket stops are not repairable. The bucket stops should be replaced only when the casting is severely cracked. If the stops are repairable or undamaged then Option B should be followed to add the reinforcement plates.

Refer to Special Instruction SEPD0542. This Special Instruction outlines the location, tack, and weld of reinforcing plates to the 5130 stick, and the relocation of the lines to the bucket cylinder.
The Special Instruction has two options available. Option A should be used only when the bucket stops are damaged beyond repair. If the stops are not repairable the castings should be replaced with new. Option B should be used if the stops can be repaired or when the plates are installed when the stops are not damaged.
