Walk-Around Inspection
For safety of the operator and maximum service life of the backhoe, a thorough walk-around inspection should be made before mounting the machine to start the engine. Inspect around and under the machine for such items as loose or missing bolts, trash build-up, oil or coolant leaks and condition of the bucket. Observe vehicle hydraulic tank oil level. Oil level should be 3/4 of the way up from the bottom of the sight gauge. Observe swing gear lubricant level. Lubricant level should be at bottom of fill plug opening.Move all controls to HOLD, apply safety locks, parking brakes, and all other safety equipment to ensure that when the vehicle is started there will not be any danger of any equipment moving.Follow all before starting, starting the engine and after starting instructions in the vehicle operator's guide.After starting operate the vehicle under a light load for 5 minutes so vehicle and backhoe fluids are warm. Operate the backhoe as outlined in the OPERATING TECHNIQUES section of this guide. Put the transport safety pins in the storage holes before operating the backhoe. Safety pin storage holes are located on the right and left side of the swing frame.Seat Adjustment
UP-DOWN LEVERDepress lever to release seat lock. Raise or lower seat to desired position. Release lever.
FORE-AFT LEVERPull lever away from seat. Position seat forward or backward to allow full brake pedal travel when operators back is against seat back. Release lever.
