Disassembly and Assembly, SENR6647-01, "990 and 990 Series II Wheel Loaders and 844 Wheel Tractor Power Train", "Assemble Final Drives"Replace step 10 with the following information.
Adjusting the preload for the wheel bearing should be performed off the machine with the spindle in a vertical position for best results. The preload for the wheel bearing can also be performed on the machine with the spindle in a horizontal position. The tire and rim must be removed for either method.
