Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.
Note: The following procedure describes the steps which are used to check and adjust the conveyor drive chain on the left side of the machine. The procedure for checking and adjusting the conveyor drive chain on the opposite side of the tractor is similar.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propulsion lever (2) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate speed dial (3) to the MINIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (4) to the ON position.
Move screed lower switch (6) to the DOWN position. Lower the screed to the ground.
Move throttle control switch (5) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
After the engine reaches low idle, move engine start switch (1) to the OFF position.

Move key switch (7) to the OFF position.
Open the access panels on the left side of the machine.

Remove six bolts (8). Remove cover (9) .

Measure the deflection along the rear edge of chain (10) at the midpoint of the chain.
The deflection of chain (10) should be less than 6.4 mm (0.25 inch).
If the deflection of chain (10) is outside the specified range, adjust the chain tension with the following procedure.

Loosen, but do not remove three bolts (11) .

Loosen locknut (12) .
Hold bolt (14), and turn adjustment nut (13) until the deflection of chain (10) is inside the specified range.
Tighten locknut (12) .
Tighten mounting bolts (11) .
Reattach cover (9) .
Close the access panels on the left side of the machine.
