Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

Loosen clamp (2) and remove body assembly (1) .

Remove bolts (3) and screen (4) .

Remove bolts (5) and bolts (7) from hood assembly (6) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to hood assembly (6). Remove hood assembly (6) from the machine. The weight of hood assembly (6) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).

Loosen clamp (10) and disconnect hose (11) from coolant tank (9) .
Loosen clamp (15) and disconnect hose (14) from coolant tank (9) .
Loosen clamp (12) and disconnect hose (13) from coolant tank (9) .
Remove bolts (8) and remove coolant tank (9) .Installation Procedure

Install coolant tank (9) and bolts (8) .
Connect hose (12) and tighten clamp (12) .
Connect hose (14) and tighten clamp (15) .
Connect hose (11) and tighten clamp (10) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to hood assembly (6). Install hood assembly (6). The weight of hood assembly (6) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).

Install screen (4) and bolts (3) .

Install body assembly (1) and clamp (2) .
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
