1. Put 5P1730 Holding Fixture (2) in a vise and tighten the vise.2. Install retainer (3) on the 5P1730 Holding Fixture with the notch in the retainer in alignment with the dowel on the holding fixture.3. Install nut (4) (part of 5P1730 Holding Fixture) on threaded end of holding fixture (2) and tighten against retainer (3) by hand.4. Install bearing cups (8) and (10) in pinion (5).5. Install bearing cone (11) and spacer (9) on retainer (3). 6. Install pinion (5) on the retainer.7. Install bearing cone (7) on the retainer.8. Put the lock in position on the retainer.9. Install nut (6). While the pinion is slowly turned, use the 5P964 Spanner Wrench (12) and a torque wrench to tighten the nut to a torque of ... 70 15 N m (50 11 lb. ft.)10. Bend the lock so the nut is held.11. Remove nut (4).12. Remove the pinion from the holding fixture.13. Do Steps 1 thru 12 for all four pistons before installation in the housing.
