Walk - Around Inspection
For your own safety and maximum service life of the machine, make a thorough walk - around inspection before mounting the machine to start the engine.Look around and under the machine for such items as loose bolts, trash build - up, oil or coolant leaks, broken or worn parts. Inspect the condition of the attachments and the hydraulic components.Refer to "Walk - Around Inspection" in the "Maintenance Section" for detailed walk - around inspection information.Pre - Start Checks
1. Unlatch and open the engine access covers to gain access to the engine compartment and the coolant reservoir. 2. Measure the engine oil level. Maintain the oil level between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick. 3. Observe the coolant level in the reservoir. Maintain the coolant level between the LOW and FULL marks on the reservoir.4. Close and latch the engine access cover. 5. To measure the hydraulic oil level, place the machine on level ground and lower the bucket to the ground with the stick vertical, as shown above, and stop the engine.Clamshell bucket should be opened and on the ground.6. Unlatch and open the side cover at the right of the machine. 7. Observe the hydraulic oil level. Maintain the oil level between the marks in the appropriate temperature range.8. Close and latch the side cover. 9. The fuel tank drain valve is located under the fuel tank. Open the valve and allow moisture and sediment to drain. This should be done at the start of each shift since water and moisture precipitate overnight. After draining, be sure to close the valve. 10. Observe the fuel level in the fuel tank. Maintain the fuel level near the full mark on the sight gauge.Filling the fuel tank with fuel should be done at the end of the day's work to drive out moisture laden air and prevent condensation. After filling, be sure to lock the tank cap to protect against vandalism.Refer to the "Every 10 Service Hours or Daily" in the "Maintenance Section" for more detailed information.Seat Adjustments
1. Adjust the seat to allow full pedal travel with the operator's back against seat back. 2. Adjust the seat belt to fit snug.3. Adjust the mirror to allow proper viewing from the seat to see close behind the machine.
