A 1P-1861 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Start By:
Remove the steering metering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Metering Pump (Steering) - Remove and Install". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the steering metering pump should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Remove seven twelve point bolts (1).

Remove cap (2), O-ring seal (3), O-ring seal (4), plate (5) and the gerotor assembly.

Remove gerotor (7) from housing (6).

Remove drive (9) from the body.

Remove four bolts (10) and the washers. Remove steering column (11).

Use Tool (A) to remove retaining ring (12).

Use a screwdriver in order to remove retainer (13), lip seal (14) and O-ring seal (15). Remove two races (16) and thrust bearing (17).

Remove spool (18) from body (19).
