Apply 34 N m (25 lb ft) of force to the front of the chain. Measure the amount of deflection.
Apply 34 N m (25 lb ft) of force to the rear of the chain. Measure the amount of deflection.
Add the amount of deflection that was measured in step 1 to the amount of deflection that was measured in step 2 in order to get the total amount of deflection. The total amount of deflection should be 25 5 mm (1.0 0.2 inch). If the amount of deflection is not within this range, perform the following steps in order to adjust the deflection for the drive chain.

Loosen three mounting bolts (1) .

Loosen jam nuts (2) .
Turn adjusting screw (3) in order to adjust the drive chain to the correct tension.
Tighten jam nuts (2) .
Tighten mounting bolts (1). Torque mounting bolts (1) to 410 N m (300 lb ft).
