Check and set the following settings before using the PCS for the first time.
Setting the display languageThe language setting controls the language for the display.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Display Settings: Language" Section of this manual to set the desired language.
Selecting the unitsThe units setting allows the selection of the units that are used to show information on the display.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Display Settings: Units" Section of this manual to set the desired units.
Selecting the weigh unitsThe weigh units setting allows the selection of the units that are used to show weight on the display.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Display Settings: Weigh Units" Section of this manual to set the desired units.
Setting the start of weighThe start of weigh setting allows the operator to adjust the starting point of the weigh range. Change the start of weigh value if standard procedures for machine operation require the change.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Basic Configuration: Start of Weigh" Section of this manual to set the desired start of weigh.
Setting the weigh rangeThe weighing operation is performed within the weigh range. The operator can change the weigh range to compensate for changing conditions at the job site. Unless standard procedures for machine operation require raising or lowering the weigh range, the weigh range value should be left unchanged.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Setup Menu: Weigh Range" Section of this manual to set the desired weigh range.
Enabling the rod end sensorIf the machine is equipped with a rod end sensor, the rod end sensor must be enabled before performing a calibration and using the machine.See the Systems Operation, "System Setup: Setup Menu: Rod End Sensor" Section of this manual to enable the rod end sensor.
Calibrating the machineThe PCS requires calibration before payload measurements can be made. If the machine is not calibrated, the "Calibration Required" message will be displayed on the screen. If the "Calibration Required" message is displayed on the screen, see the Testing and Adjusting Section of this manual for a detailed explanation about performing acalibration.
Verify PCS accuracy and fine-tune with simple CAL update if needed.
