Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all wires for installation purposes.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove bolt (7) .
Remove nut (6) from lower bolt (1). Do not remove bolt (1) from alternator (3) at this time.
Remove guard (5) .
Remove spacer (4) and bolt (2) .

Remove belt (8). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Remove bolt (9). Disconnect cable assembly (10). Disconnect harness assembly (11). Pull back the rubber boot and remove the nut in order to disconnect cable assembly (12) .

Remove rubber boot (13) .
Remove lower bolt (1) and alternator (3) .Installation Procedure

Position alternator (3) and install lower bolt (1). Install rubber boot (13) .

Connect cable assembly (12). Install the nut for cable assembly (12). Tighten the nut to 18 2 N m (13 2 lb ft). Install the rubber boot for cable assembly (12). Connect harness assembly (11). Connect cable assembly (10). Install bolt (9). Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 4 1 N m (3 1 lb ft).

Install belt (8) on the alternator. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Install bolt (2) and spacer (4). Refer to Illustration 10.
Position guard (5) .
Install bolts (7) .
Install nut (6) on lower bolt (1) on alternator (3) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
