Be sure all parts of the backhoe control valve group are thoroughly clean and free of dirt and debris. Remove any scratches or burrs from valve components with polishing paper or an oil stone. Check the condition of all O-ring seals, backup rings and springs. If any components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Put clean hydraulic oil on the components of the valve as they are being installed. Be sure to install all parts in their original locations.
1. Assemble the swing valve as follows: a. Install O-ring seal (99) on body assembly (86). Install backup ring (98) and O-ring seal (97) on body assembly (86) as shown. Install seal (91) in body assembly (86). The bevel on the outside edge of bearing (96) must be facing toward body assembly (86) when it is installed.b. Using tooling (C) and a press, install bearing (96) in body assembly (86) to a depth of 2.8 0.1 mm (.110 .004 in). After installation of the bearing, the inside diameter of the bearing must be 12.650 0.063 mm (.4980 .0024 in).c. Install O-ring seal (94) on plug (93) and install the plug in valve (92). Tighten the plug to a torque of 20 2 N m (15 1 lb ft). Install retainer ring (90) on valve (92). Install spring (89), stem (95) and valve (92) in body assembly (86).d. Install valve (88), spring (87) and retainer (85) in body assembly (86). Install nut (100) on retainer (85). Tighten nut to a torque of 24 2 N m (18 1 lb ft). e. Install makeup and relief valves (81) and (84). Tighten the valves to a torque of 145 10 N m (105 7 lb ft).f. Install two O-ring seals (80), two O-ring seals (83) and three O-ring seals (82). g. Install O-ring seal (78) on shuttle valve (75).h. Install O-ring seal (80). Install backup rings (79) on each side of the O-ring seal.i. Install O-ring seal (77). Install backup rings (76) on each side of the O-ring seal. j. Install shuttle valve (75). Tighten the shuttle valve to a torque of 32 5 N m (24 4 lb ft). k. If removed, install the plug located in valve assembly (74). Tighten the plug to a torque of 65 5 N m (48 4 lb ft). Install valve assembly (74). l. Install backup ring (73) and O-ring seal (72) on sleeve (69). Install washer (71) and spring (70) in sleeve (69). m. Install sleeve assembly (69). n. Install the O-ring seal in housing (63). Put the housing in position and install two bolts (64).o. Install O-ring seal (68) on plug (65). Install valve (67), spring (66) and plug (65). Tighten the plug to a torque of 160 15 N m (120 11 lb ft). Lubricate with clean oil, seal and ring assembly (58), and bearings (60) and (61).p. Install bearing (60) in housing
