973 LoadersA pipe can be fabricated that can be used to drain the engine or the transmission oil on the above loaders. The new pipe is longer so that the oil will not get on other components when it is drained. Formerly, a shorter drain nipple was sent with the machine during shipment. The nipple was used to drain only the transmission oil.
To fabricate the drain pipe, use one 4B7307 Nipple and one 6B9081 Bushing. The nipple can also be made from standard black pipe, 343 mm (13.5") long with 3/4" pipe threads on both ends. The bushing must have 1" - 11 1/2 external (outside) pipe threads and internal (inside) 3/4" - 14 pipe threads. The 3/4" - 14 threads will fit the engine drain plug adapter and the 1" - 11 1/2 threads will fit the drain valve body on the transmission.
