Information:

It is highly recommended that a sea water strainer is fitted to the inlet side of the sea water pump. The sea water strainer should have holes of with a maximum diameter of 1.6 mm. The intake pressure must not exceed 1 bar.Failure to fit a sea water strainer may invalidate warranty.
The sea water strainer must be clean to allow proper engine cooling. Check the sea water strainer for plugging. Inspect the sea water strainer more frequently if the vessel is being operated in water which is shallow or dirty. Refer to the OEM recommendations for more information about inspecting and cleaning the sea water strainer.Ensure that the auxiliary water pump is primed and that the suction line is open.
Close the sea cock.
Remove the sea water strainer and clean the screen. Remove any dirt and debris.
Install the sea water strainer. Fill the sea water strainer and the suction line for the auxiliary water pump with water.
Open the sea cock.
