TUBE AS 8V9645 - Caterpillar

1. Remove four bolts (1) and washers from speed sensor housing (2). 2. Install Tool (C) and push housing (2) with O-ring (5) shim pack (6) and sensor cover assembly (3) from the transfer gear housing (4). Install the transmission output speed sensor in the reverse order. The following steps are for the disassembly and assembly of the transmission output speed sensor. 1. Remove bolts (7) with spacers, washers and rubber grommets.2. Separate sensor cover assembly (3) from sensor housing (2) with rubber mounting (8). 3. Remove speed sensor puck up (9). 4. Remove four bolts (10) and the washers from retainer plate (11). 5. Using Tool (A) remove snap ring (12) from shaft (13). 6. Using Tool (B) remove bearing (14) from shaft (13) with pick up gear (15) attached. Assemble transmission output speed sensor in the reverse order.
