Adjustment for the Fan Drive Belt

The fan drive belts have a belt tightener that is spring loaded. There is no adjustment for the fan drive belts. Inspect the condition of the belt tightener and the spring. Lubricate the belt tightener at a regular interval. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fan Drive Bearing and Belt Tightener - Lubricate".Adjustment for the Air Conditioner Belt

Loosen bolt (1) .

Loosen bolt (2) .
Use square hole (3) and a ratchet in order to adjust the tension of the belt.
Tighten bolt (2) and bolt (1) .
Check the tension on the belt. Use a 144-0235 Belt Tension Gauge in order to measure the tension. The compressor drive belt should measure 535 22 N (120 5 lb). If the belt is not within the specifications, repeat this procedure until the correct tension is achieved.Alternator Belt Adjustment

Loosen two bolts (1) .
Use two nuts (2) in order to adjust the alternator.
Tighten two bolts (1) .
Check the tension on the belt. Use a 144-0235 Belt Tension Gauge in order to measure the tension. A used belt should measure 445 44 N (100 10 lb). A belt that has been in operation for 30 minutes or more is a used belt. A new compressor drive belt should measure 712 22 N (160 5 lb). If the belt is not within the specifications, repeat this procedure until the correct tension is achieved.
