For field repairs in order to prevent failure, use modified rubber boots with tie straps for large connectors. (40 pin connector: 112-3587 Boot, HDP round connector: 382-3077 Boot, and 70 pin ECM connector: 165-4893 Boot ). If boots are not available or do not fit well, use heat-shrink, or use a durable plastic sleeve with a zip-tie to seal the connectors. Apply 210-8958 Heat Shrink Tube on all smaller connectors.Field repairs will apply to the following machines:
