Use Tooling (G) to install Duo- Cone seal (10) to wheel (9).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to wheel (9). The weight of wheel (9) is approximately 155 kg (342 lb). Install wheel (9).

Raise the temperature of bearing cone (8). Install bearing cone (8) onto hub (4).

Use suitable press to install bushing (7) into hub (4).

Place ring gear (5) with the groove for retaining ring (6) into the groove of hub (4). The weight of ring gear (5) is approximately 22 kg (49 lb). The weight of hub (4) is approximately 22 kg (49 lb).Use a screwdriver to position retaining ring (6) into the groove of hub (4). Insert hub (4) into ring gear (5).

Install Tooling (A) into the spindle. Attach a suitable lifting device to hub (4) and ring gear (5). The combined weight of hub (4) and ring gear (5) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Slide hub (4) and ring gear (5) onto Tooling (A). Install hub (4) and ring gear (5) as a unit.
Use the following procedure to find the thickness of the shim.

Measure the thickness of retainer plate (2) at the three small holes (X). Calculate the average thickness of retainer plate (2).
Install retainer plate (5) and three bolts (4) onto the spindle. Do not install the shims. Evenly space the bolts next to the three small holes (X) in the retainer plate.
Tighten three bolts (1) to a torque of 100 N m (74 lb ft). Rotate the wheel for several revolutions. Torque the bolts and rotate the wheel again.
Loosen three bolts (1).
Tighten three bolts (1) to a torque of 40 N m (29.5 lb ft). Rotate wheel (2) for several revolutions. Continue the sequence of torquing the bolts and rotating the wheel until the bolts torque stays at 40 N m (29.5 lb ft).

Use Tooling (H) to find the average depth from the top of retainer plate (2) and the top of the spindle. Make the measurement through three small holes (X) in the retainer plate. As shown in Illustration 14.
Subtract the thickness of retainer plate (2) from the depth of the holes. This is the dimension of the gap between the end of the spindle and retainer plate (2).
Remove retainer plate (2). Install the shims with a thickness that is equal to the gap, calculated in step 12.g, plus an extra 0.1 mm (0.004 inch). Use a micrometer to check the thickness of the shims.

Install shim (3).

Install retainer plate (2) and bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 60 12 N.m (44 9 lb ft). Turn an additional 120 10 degrees.End By:
Install the final drive.
Install the tire and rim (Rear).
