Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove torque converter outlet relief valve.
Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

Remove O-ring seals (2) from the outside of valve body (1).

Remove bolts (3) and cover (4) from the valve body.

Remove O-ring seal (5) from valve body (1). Remove plugs (7) and inspect the O-ring seals for plugs (7).
Remove springs (6).

Remove bolts (8) and cover (9) from valve body (1).

Remove O-ring seal (10) and spool assembly (11) from valve body (1).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove spacer (12) from spool assembly (11) .
Remove spiral retaining ring (16), retainer (15), spring (14), and poppet (13) from spool assembly (11).
