Typical Example
D300D Hitch Pins And Fasteners1. Remove bolts (2) and nuts (3).2. Remove hitch pin washerer (6) and studs (1).3. Remove bolts (4). Set bracket assembly (5) aside if so equipped.
Typical Example4. Remove bolt, washer and taper pin (9) from each steer cylinder pin (7) at oscillating hitch (8). Remove pin (7). Repeat on other side.
Typical Example5. Secure tool (A) and tool (C) to oscillating hitch (8) and attach a hoist and chains. The oscillating hitch weighs 495 kg (1100 lb).
Typical Example6. Remove bolts (10). Remove lower hitch pin (11) by using tool (B).
Typical Example7. Use tool (B) to partially remove upper hitch pin (12). After partial removal, back off tool (B) and place two steel blocks approximately (1 inch X 2 inch) under the upper hitch pin and finish removal of the hitch pin.8. After the oscillating hitch is partially removed from the truck chassis, remove spacer or washers (13).
Typical Example9. Two face seals (14) must be removed to prevent damage to the steer cylinder rod ends as the oscillating hitch is being removed.
Typical Example10. A seal ring (15) rests between the tractor frame and the lower pin mount of the oscillating truck hitch. Raise oscillating truck hitch (8) to provide seal clearance before attempting removal. Set oscillating truck hitch on a solid base.
Typical Example11. Inspect and if necessary remove screws (17), replace two hitch thrust washers (16) from the top and bottom of the oscillating hitch flange.
Typical Example12. Inspect upper spherical bearing (18). Replace if necessary. 13. Inspect lower spherical bearing (19). Replace if necessary.Install Oscillating Truck Hitch
Typical Example1. Use two wood blocks (D) to block the steer cylinders. This will allow easier installation of the oscillating hitch.
Typical2. Secure tool (B) and tool (C) to the oscillating hitch. Attach tool (A) with chains and hoist to tools (B) and (C). Use tool (A) to obtain proper alignment.3. To complete the installation of the oscillating hitch, reverse the procedures in the removal steps in this order: Step 8, 7, 2, 1, 6, 5, 9, 4, and 3. Read before beginning installation assembly steps.
Damage to the lower seal ring could occur if care is not taken to install properly. When installing seal ring (15), refer to Photo C43738P2, provide all clearance available to place the seal ring between the tractor frame and the lower pin mount of the oscillating truck hitch. Insert the lower pin. Move to the upper pin assembly. Insert the lower spacer of the upper pin assembly. Lower truck hitch to allow insertion of upper spacer. Insert the upper pin.
End By:a. connect tractor and trailer
