Remove Oil Pump
preparatory step: a) remove oil pan 1. Remove the oil pump front sump pickup tube assembly (1). 2. Remove the oil pump mounting bolts and locks (2). Remove the oil pump - weight 70 lbs. (32 kg).Install Oil Pump
1. Position the oil pump to the engine and install the mounting bolts and locks.2. Install the oil pump front sump pickup tube assembly.concluding step: a) install oil pumpDisassemble Oil Pump
preparatory step: a) remove oil pump1. Remove the oil pump suction bell, screen and elbow. 2. Remove the oil pump bypass diffuser (1), spring and valve (2). Remove the bypass valve body (3). 3. Remove the baffle (4). Remove the oil pump drive gear retaining nut, washer and cotter pin. Using tool setup (A), remove the oil pump drive gear. Remove the key.4. Remove the cover assembly (5). Remove the scavenger pump gears (6) and key. Remove the cover assembly (7) and body (8).5. Remove the oil pump gears (9) and plate assembly (10). Remove the bearings from the end cover assemblies.Assemble Oil Pump
1. Install the bearings in the end cover assemblies.2. Position the oil pump gears to the plate assembly and install key.3. Install the gears and plate assembly on the oil pump body assembly. Install the scavenger gears.4. Install the body and cover assembly. Turn pump over and install cover assembly. Install the four retaining bolts and locks. 5. Install key on pump drive gear shaft. Install the gear, retaining nut and washer. Tighten the nut to 100 lb. ft. (13,8 mkg) plus amount to align cotter pin. Install and bend cotter pin.6. Install the baffle, retaining bolts and locks.7. Install the bypass valve body. Install valve, spring and diffuser.8. Install the suction bell elbow, screen and suction bell.concluding step: a) install oil pump
