Ether Starting Aid - The ether starting aid is required for starting the engine during cold weather. While you crank the engine, push the top of the switch in order to inject a premeasured amount of ether into the air intake.
Inject ether ONLY while cranking the engine. Use the ether sparingly. Excessive ether can cause piston and ring damage. Use ether for cold starting purposes only. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Starting with Ether Starting Aid" for further information.
Note: The following instructions are for the scraper engine.
