Remove the outer axles. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle - Remove and Install".
Drain the oil from the final drive. The final drive contains approximately 6 L (1.6 US gal).

Remove two bolts (1) .

Install Tooling (B) .
Remove the remaining bolts (1) .

Slide final drive planetary carrier (2) outward on Tooling (B) .
Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to final drive planetary carrier (2) .
Use a pry bar in order to balance final drive planetary carrier (2) .
Remove final drive (2). The weight of final drive planetary carrier (2) is approximately 47 kg (105 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (3) from final drive planetary carrier (2) .

Remove bolts (5) and plate (6) .
Remove seal (4), if necessary.
