EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL
1-Fuel lines. Cap and plug openings in fuel lines, fuel injection pumps and fuel injectors. 2-Crankcase vent tube. 3-Nuts. Coat threads of manifold mounting studs with 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound before installing nuts. 4-Exhaust manifold.Cylinder Head Removal And Installation

CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL
1-Cylinder head to water pump bypass line. 2-Cylinder head to water pipe bleed line. 3-Water temperature gauge line.
CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL
4-Hydraulic lines assembly. Remove and cover openings. 5-Air cleaner and pipe. 6-Hydraulic hoses. (four hoses). Disconnect at block and cover openings. 7-Bracket and block. 8-Water elbow. 9-Crankcase vent tube. 10-Hydraulic tank support bracket. Remove bracket and install a 5L4544 Lifting Eye in rear of cylinder head. 11-Glow plug wire. Disconnect from glow plug harness and head. 12-Exhaust manifold. 13-Fuel lines. Cap and plug openings in fuel lines, fuel injection pumps and fuel injectors. 14-Valve cover. Remove rocker arms and head nuts, attach a hoist to lifting eyes and remove cylinder head - weight 200 lbs. (91 kg).At time of installation, apply 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound to all cylinder head bolt threads. Tighten all head bolts in Step sequence shown. GLOW PLUG OPENING POSITIONING DIAGRAMUse 5F8353 Wrench to remove and install precombustion chamber (4). Coat threads with 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound. Coat seal (5) and mating surface in bore of head with liquid soap.To prevent glow plug wiring interference, use gaskets (6) to position precombustion chamber (4). Install thinner gasket first. Install precombustion chamber and tighten to specified torque. If glow plug opening is not positioned in "go" range, remove precombustion chamber and replace gasket with one of the others called for on GLOW PLUG OPENING POSITIONING DIAGRAM.Align opening in water director (7) with "V" mark on head.Gasket (8) must be clean and dry at installation.Use 5S1330 Valve Spring Compressor Group to assemble valve springs (9) and valves (10). Assemble spring with painted end up.
CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY
1, 2, and 3-Head bolts. 4-Precombustion chamber. 5-Seal. 6-Gasket. 7-Water director. 8-Head gasket. 9-Valve spring. 10-Valve. 11-Valve guide. 12-Valve seat insert. 13-Bearing.Use 7S8859 Valve Guide Driver, 7S8858 Valve Guide Driver Bushing to remove valve guide (11).Use 9S3080 Tool Group, 9S3084 Extractor Head and 9S3087 Extractor Head to remove valve inserts (12).Use FT192 Driver to install bearing (13). Align hole in bearing with hole in rocker arm.
