Information:

Start By:a. remove final drive gears, idler pinions and bearings
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Remove ring (1) and pin (2).2. Loose the spanner nut with tool (A) until there is a distance of 3.2 mm (.125 in.) between the nut and the steering clutch case.
Do not remove the spanner nut from the sprocket shaft until the shaft is loosened with tooling (B) or (C). The nut will hold the shaft when it is loosened from the taper in the steering clutch case.
Tooling (B) is used to remove a standard size sprocket shaft. Tooling (C) is used to remove the sprocket shaft from a Low Ground Pressure machine.3. Install tooling (B) to remove a standard size sprocket shaft as follows:a. Install the 5P4183 Adapter (6) on the end of the sprocket shaft. Install the 5P4181 Extension Adapter (4) and the 7M9772 Pin (5) in the 5P4183 Adapter as shown.b. Install the 7M9773 Adapter (3) on the extension adapter.4. Install the 9H3992 Head (7) on the cylinder group. Install the 7M9774 Adapter on the end of the cylinder. Put 5S1430 Sleeve (9) in position over the sprocket shaft as shown. Put the cylinder group in position on the sleeve and install the 7M9772 Pin (8). Make sure the pin goes through the 7M9774 Adapter and 7M9773 Adapter. 5. Install tooling (C) to remove the sprocket shaft from a Low Ground Pressure machine as follows:a. Install the 5P4183 Adapter (11) on the end of the sprocket shaft. Slide the 5S1430 Sleeve (10) over the sprocket shaft. b. Install the 9H3992 Head (13) on the cylinder group. Install the 7M9774 Coupling (14) on the end of the cylinder group. Put the cylinder group in position on the sleeve. Install the 7M9772 Pin (12) through the coupling and adapter.c. Fasten a hoist to tooling (B) or (C) and loosen the sprocket shaft. Remove tooling (B) or (C). Remove the spanner nut from the sprocket shaft. Fasten a hoist to the sprocket shaft and remove it from the steering clutch case. The weight of either sprocket shaft (standard or low ground pressure) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).Install Sprocket Shafts
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Fasten a hoist to sprocket shaft (15). Put the sprocket shaft in the steering clutch case as far as possible by hand and remove the hoist.2. Install the spanner nut on the end of the sprocket shaft under the steering clutch case. Do not tighten the nut at this time. 3. Use tooling (A) to install a standard size sprocket shaft and tooling (B) to install the sprocket shaft on a Low Ground Pressure machine.4. Install tooling (A) or (B) on the sprocket shaft as shown. Fasten a hoist to the tooling. Install the sprocket shaft with tooling (A) or (B) with a force of 180 to 265 kN (20 to 30
