Information:
1. Remove four bolts (1) and cover (2).
The adjuster cylinder for the track is under high hydraulic pressure. Do not visually inspect the relief valve to see if grease is released when it is open. Look to see that the track has been loosened. Use this warning any time the tracks are loosened or tightened.
2. Loosen the track as follows:a. Turn relief valve (3) one turn counterclockwise to permit grease to be released from the vent hold below to the relief valve. If the track does not loosen go to Step b.b. Turn fill valve (4) one turn counterclockwise to permit grease to be released from the vent hole below the fill valve. If the track does not loosen, start the machine and move it forward and backward. If the track does not loosen go to Step c. c. Install slug (5) that is 76.2 mm (3 in) in diameter and 63.50 mm (2.5 in) long between the track and sprocket segment. Move the machine in reverse, so the track will be pushed up by the slug. This will put tension on the track and move the front idler and track adjuster to the rear against the force of the recoil spring. This will push grease out of the vent holes. 3. Lift machine until track rollers are off the track. Install wood blocks in position under the front of the machine as shown. Install Tooling (A) under the rear of the machine as shown. 4. Start the machine and move track until master link (6) is in the position shown. Install Tooling (B) under the grouser of the shoe preceding master link (6). Move the machine slowly in reverse until the grouser is tight against Tooling (B). 5. Remove two bolts (10), two bolts (9), four bolts (8) and track shoe (7).
Keep away from the front and rear of the machine when the track is pushed off the track carrier roller and idler.
6. Install Tooling (C) as shown. Using a suitable lifting device, move the track assembly forward and off of the machine. Remove Tooling (B) and (C).Connection Of Tracks
Keep away from the area behind the sprocket when the track is pulled onto the sprocket with Tooling (A).
1. Install Tooling (A) as shown.2. Start the machine. Move the sprocket forward until the track is pulled up on the sprocket and the end of the track is forward of a vertical center line through the sprocket. Remove Tooling (A). 3. Install Tooling (B) between the end track shoe and the bushing as shown.4. Move sprocket forward slowly. Use Tooling (B) as a guide to put the track over the carrier roller and the front idler. 5. Install Tooling (C) as shown. Using a suitable lifting device, lift the end of the track and place Tooling (D) under the grouser as shown. Remove Tooling (C).6. Pull the track into position and connect the master link. 7. Install mast track shoe (1) with four bolts (3). Put 1E-2470 Anti-Seize
