Information:
Machine Stopping
Park on a level surface. If it is necessary to park on a grade, block the tracks securely.Do not engage the parking brake while the machine is moving unless an emergency exists.
1. Apply the service brakes to stop the machine. 2. Move the transmission control into NEUTRAL. 3. Engage the parking brake.4. Lower the dozer blade and all attachments to the ground. Apply slight down pressure.Engine Stopping
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following stopping procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger center housing, (if equipped) which could cause oil coking problems.
1. With the machine stopped, run the engine for five minutes at low idle. Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components. 2. Push the governor lever all the way forward to stop the engine. Turn the start switch key to OFF. Remove the key.Leaving the Machine
1. Use the steps and handholds. When dismounting use both hands and face the machine. 2. Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris and paper to avoid a fire.3. To reduce fire hazard remove all flammable debris from front bottom guard through the access doors.4. If the machine is being parked for an extended period, (such as overnight, etc.), turn the battery disconnect switch to OFF and remove the key.5. Install all vandalism protection locks and covers.
