Do not reuse an XT coupling unless it is first resized. XT couplings that are not resized can separate (blow-off) from the hose assembly and possibly cause personal injury.

It is permissible to use couplings that have had the zinc-chromate coating removed by bead blasting or exposure to non-caustic chemicals. Such couplings should be painted after they are assembled onto hoses to prevent corrosion damage.
