Ether Starting Aid (If Equipped) - Push in the button for the ether starting aid. When the button is released, a premeasured amount of ether is injected into the engine air intake.
Only inject the ether while you are cranking the engine. Use the ether sparingly. Excessive ether can cause piston damage and ring damage. Ether should only be used for the purpose of cold weather starting. Use ether when temperatures are below 0°C (+32°F). Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Starting" for further information.
This machine is equipped with an air inlet heater (AIH) for cold weather starting. Do not use aerosol can types of starting aids such as ether. Such use could result in an explosion and personal injury.
