Problem
The direct drive transmissions in some D6D SA Tractors have not provided acceptable service life. These transmissions have experienced excessive shaft spline and shift fork wear, gear tooth failures due to insufficient lubrication, and shift linkage and flywheel clutch brake problems. New parts are now in production which will solve the problem and improve service life. Following are three segments of the improvement: Segment A -- New flywheel clutch brake material Segment B -- New transmission shift lever Segment C -- Improved lubrication system and shaft spline fit
