Loosen retainer (6) on the metal pipe. Remove retaining clamp on the scavenge hose (not shown).
Remove the engine air precleaner and turn the unit upside down. Remove screws (5) and disassemble the unit.
Remove screen (4).
Clean the screen and all components with compressed air or water to remove dust and debris.Note: Inspect the gasket and replace the gasket if damaged.
With the cover (1) upside down, reassemble the unit. Install screws (5).
Add blue Loc-Tite to each long screw (5) upon reassembly.
Replace the engine air precleaner on the metal pipe. Install retainer (6) and the retaining clamp on the scavenge hose.Precleaner Assembly With Prescreen

Loosen three clamps, as shown. Slide ejector hose (1) off the fitting on the molded hose.
Lift precleaner assembly off the exhaust outlet.Note: Place the precleaner assembly 11.5 kg (25.5 lb) on a stable surface.
Remove clamp (3) from top of precleaner assembly (2).

Turn the precleaner assembly over. Remove both exhaust stack clamp (4) and clamp (5) that is holding the prescreen.
Lift screen (6) off the precleaner assembly and set the screen aside.

Remove six screws (7) that hold the remaining components of the precleaner assembly together.
Lift pipe and lower assembly (8) from upper assembly (9).

Turn pipe and lower assembly unit over. Clean the assembly with compressed air or water, as needed.

Remove top plate (10) from upper assembly (9). Clean the top plate with compressed air or water, as needed.
Reassemble the precleaner assembly in reverse order.
The gasket in top plate must be positioned properly upon reassembly.
Add blue Loc-Tite to each long screw (7) upon reassembly. Note: When installing the screen, take caution to guide the ejector hose through the opening.
Install the precleaner assembly on the machine. Reconnect the three clamps. Refer to Illustration 2.
