The new front track guide guards (1) 238-7701 Track Guide Guard As (RH) (2) 238-7702 Track Guide Guard As (LH)During derailment, the track will move toward the undercarriage frame and the track will contact the track guide guard. If the derailment progresses, the track is forced against the track guide guard. The resistance that is created between the track and the track guide guard will increase until the drive motor stalls. In the previous design, the track would contact the track guide guard and the track could then ride on top of the track guide guard. As a result, the rubber track was often damaged by the edges of the track guide guard.The new 238-7701 Track Guide Guard As (RH) (1) and the 238-7702 Track Guide Guard As (LH) (2) are available through the parts system.The new 238-7701 Track Guide Guard As (RH) (1) is a direct replacement for the 215-4009 Track Guide Guard As that was formerly used in the right front position. The 238-7702 Track Guide Guard As (LH) (2) is a direct replacement for the 215-4008 Track Guide Guard As that was formerly used in the left front position.Note: The new track guide guards are not intended for use in the right rear position and in the left rear position.
