TURBOCHARGER GP 1290363 - Caterpillar

1. Remove ring (1) from the body assembly.2. Remove bushing (2) from the body assembly. 3. Remove seal (3) and seal (4) from the bushing. 4. Remove two races (5) and bearing (6) from the body assembly. 5. Remove O-ring seal (7) from the body assembly. 6. Remove seven bolts (8) and cap (9) from the body assembly. 7. Remove gear set (10) from the body assembly. 8. Remove spacer (11) and plate (12) from the body assembly. 9. Remove drive (13) from the body assembly. 10. Remove the sleeve and spool assembly (14) from the body assembly. 11. Remove pin (15) from the sleeve assembly.12. Remove spool (17) from sleeve (16). 13. Remove six springs (18) from the spool.14. Remove the hydraulic connector from the right port in the body assembly. 15. Remove clip (19) and the ball from the body assembly.Assemble Hand Metering Unit
1. Install ball (1) in the body assembly. Install clip (2) that holds it. Install the hydraulic connector in the body assembly. 2. Install six springs (3) in the spool as shown. Make sure the curves of the springs are in contact and in the center of the spool. 3. Slide sleeve (4) in position over spool (5).4. Install pin (6) that holds the spool to the sleeve. Assemble the remainder of the hand metering unit in a vertical position as shown so the pin that holds the spool to the sleeve does not fall out. 5. Install the sleeve and spool assembly in the body assembly as shown. 6. Put plate (8) in position on the body assembly. The plate will fit on the body assembly one way only.7. Install drive assembly (7) in the body assembly. 8. Install gear set (9). Make sure gear (10) in the gear set is in alignment with pin (6) in the sleeve assembly. 9. Install spacer (11). Put cap (10) in position on the gear set. Install the seven bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 21 3 lb ft (28 4 N m). 10. Install O-ring seal (14) in the body assembly.11. Install two races (12) and bearing (13) in the body assembly as shown. 12. Install the lip type seal in the bushing with tooling (A). Install the seal until it makes contact with the counterbore in the bushing and with the lip toward the outside of the hand metering unit. 13. Install bushing (16) and ring (15) that holds it.End By:a. install hand metering unit
