Install springs (17) and dowels (18) to housing assembly (14). Install four friction discs (19) and three clutch plates (20) to housing assembly (14) in alternating order. Start with a friction disc and end with a friction disc.

Install a seal ring (16) on piston (15) and on clutch housing (12). Install piston (15) in clutch housing (12).

Use Tooling (B) to hold the piston in clutch housing (12). Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device on clutch housing (12). Install clutch housing (12) to housing assembly (14). The weight of clutch housing (12) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove Tooling (A) and (B).

Use Tooling (B) to hold the piston into clutch housing (5). Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto clutch housing (5). Install clutch housing (5) to the transmission assembly. The weight of clutch housing (5) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove Tooling (A) and (B).

Install bolts (4) and the washers to clutch housing (5).

Install the transmission assembly to transmission housing (3). Align the shafts of the assemblies. Check that the proper seating of the assemblies is achieved. Install bolts (2) and the washers that secure the transmission assembly to transmission housing (3).

Use Tooling (F) to test the clutch pistons in the clutch housings. Use 690 to 1035 kPa (100 to 150 psi) air pressure to move the clutch pistons. Apply air pressure to each of the seven oil passages. The clutch pistons should move a distance of 3.0 to 6.4 mm (0.12 to 0.25 inch).

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto transmission assembly (1). Lift transmission assembly (1) from Tooling (F). The weight of the transmission assembly is approximately 703 kg (1550 lb).End By:
