Valves
There are two different types of valves used in the distribution system.
Main distributor valve
Secondary distributor valveThe main distributor valve receives grease supply from the pump via the main supply line. The main distributor divides the grease to the secondary distributor valves. The secondary distributor valves deliver grease to each grease point downstream. The main distributor valve and the secondary distributor valve for the boom and swing bearing are on the boom. The secondary distributor valve for the stick is on the stick. The secondary distributor valve for Hydraulic Cab Riser is on the Hydraulic Cab Riser.Note: All outlets of the distributor are supplied with grease in sequence. When there is any blockage of grease downstream of the distributor or inside the distributor, the distributor is unable to supply grease to any of the outlets.Valve Functionality
Illustration 1 g06169554The distributors consist of several sections which are assembled using tie rods and lock washers. The bores are sealed with O-rings at the interface of sections. Other than the first section at the inlet, each section has a piston which directs lubricant to each outlet. The lubricant flows via the inlet of the distributor to piston (A) (Illustration 1). Piston (A) is shifted to the left and the lubricant is pushed to outlet (1) (Illustration 2). Next, pistons (B) and (C) are sequentially shifted and the lubricant is pushed to outlets (2) and (3).After piston (C) has been shifted, the lubricant is directed to the left side of piston (A) (Illustration 3) and lubricant is pushed to outlet (4). Next, pistons (B) and (C) are sequentially shifted and the lubricant is pushed to outlets (5) and (6).
Illustration 2 g06169561After piston (C) has been shifted, the lubricant is once again directed to the right side of piston (A) (Illustration 1) and a new cycle begins. The described cycle is repeated as long as the lubricant is fed to the distributor.
