Reference: Special Instruction, Form SEHS8742-01, "Using the 8T8697 Electronic Control Analyzer Programmer (ECAP)".The 7X1350 Executive Program Module has been updated from Version 1.0 to 1.1. This module is the controlling software for the 8T8697 ECAP. It handles the interface of adapters and Service Program Modules added to the 8T8697 ECAP. The 7X1350 Executive Program is an EPROM (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) chip. The updated version replaces the original Executive Program delivered in the 8T8697 ECAP.
Several benefits are incorporated into the updated Executive Program, Version 1.1. The power up system test time has been shortened by performing only standard system tests. The main menu is changed to allow for more than nine menu items. An on-screen message is added whenever the CAP LOCK key is pressed.
Included in the program is a set of Utility Functions, which also have been updated from Version 1.0 to 1.1. A Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) Sensor measurement is added to the Utility Functions menu, but this requires an 8C9801 PWM Adapter Group. Also added is the function to display the Service Program Module (SPM) version list. This provides an easy method of displaying the SPM version numbers for SPM's installed in ECAP.
The order of menu items in the Communications Options menu has been changed to eliminate the possibility of "falling" into the Terminal Emulation function.
