Wait for all the data to complete loading from the ECM. The screen that is shown in Illustration 8 will be displayed.

To view the data, click the heading for the transmission ECM. For example "Transmission 735" and then click the "+" next to the job site or truck shift segment. Refer to Illustration 9.

Cycle Counter Data - save to file
To save the data to a file, click the "Save To File" button and choose a location for the output file. The "Save As" window will start in the default folder "c:\program files\caterpillar electronic technician\downloads\cycle counter data\".Click "OK" in the following window to confirm the process.

Open data into Excel spread sheet
To open the data in Excel, go to the "File" drop-down menu and choose the "Open" option. Scroll to the folder that contains the required data. (The default folder is "c:\program files\caterpillar electronic technician\downloads\cycle counter data\".) In the "Files of type" field, select the "Text Files" option.

Cycle Counter Data in spread sheet
The data will be loaded into Excel. The columns will need to be widened to display the "ECM data/time" data and all the titles. To widen a column, click the gray box at the top of the column. Then, double-click the vertical line that is between the adjacent columns.Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) to Reset the Truck Shift Segment
Illustration 17 g06311581In Cat® ET, go to the "Information" drop-down menu and click "Cycle Counter Reset" then select "Truck Shift Segment Reset".After selecting "Truck Shift Segment Reset", you will be informed that this will clear all data and asked if you wish to continue. Selecting Yes will clear all the gathered data and remove the active event.
