The design of the 3406 Marine Propulsion Engine compact package reduces package size and weight, eliminates the factory installed expansion tank and reduces the size/capacity requirements of the expansion tank, which is customer supplied.The new compact design is reduced in weight by 82 kg (180 lb), in length by 127 mm (5 in), in width by 177 mm (7 in), and in height by 25 mm (1 in) when compared to the conventional heavy duty 3406 marine package.This engine design incorporates a cooling system deaerator, relocates the raw water pump to the rear side of the front cover and replaces the panel style air cleaner with a marine air cleaner as standard equipment.The three arrangements (113-6986, 111-1514 and 111-4445) are available in models for heat exchanger cooling or keel cooling and are available with ratings of A through E.
