Troubleshooting:
PROBLEM: Tests 27 through 30 give an indication of leakage in one or more of the cylinders in each circuit. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in only one of the cylinders in a circuit.B. Leakage in both cylinders in a circuit.C. Leakage in the tilt kickout circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Do the Blocked Cylinder Test for cylinders on the right side. PROBLEM: Tests 27 through 30 give an indication of leakage in the control valves. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in one or both of the relief valves for maximum pressure.B. Failure of the seals between the control valves and tank.C. Leakage in the make-up valves in all circuits.D. Wear or damage in the valve bodies and spools. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Problem is in the control valves. Remove the units and inspect their components. PROBLEM: Tests 27 and 28 give an indication of leakage in the lift control valve. PROBABLE REASONS:A. Leakage in all make-up valves for the lift circuits.B. Wear or damage in either or both bodies and spools for the control valves in the lift circuit.C. Leakage in either or both check valves for the lift circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Problem is in the control valves. Remove the units and inspect their components. PROBLEM: Tests 29 and 30 give an indication of leakage in the tilt control vales. PROBABLE REASONS:A. Leakage in all make-up valves for the tilt circuit.B. Leakage in the tilt relief valves.C. Wear or damage in the body and spool for the control valve in either tilt circuit.D. Leakage in either or both check valves for the tilt circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Problem is in the tilt control valves. Remove these units and inspect their components. PROBLEM: Test 29 gives and indication of leakage in the cylinder. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in the tilt cylinder.B. Leakage in the dump kickout circuit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Problem is in the cylinder or dump kickout valve. Remove these units and inspect their components. PROBLEM: Test 30 gives an indication of leakage in the cylinder. PROBABLE REASON:A. Leakage in the tilt cylinder.B. Leakage in the tiltback kickout valve. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACTION:Problem is in the cylinder or tiltback kickout valve. Remove the units and inspect their components.Right Side Cylinders Blocked
If the Blocked Cylinder Tests gives an indication of leakage that is too high in one or more of the cylinders, do the Blocked Cylinder Tests for the Right Side. It is not necessary to do this test for both sides. This series of tests gives the amount of leakage in each cylinder. For best accuracy, move the control valves through several cycles to warm all the hydraulic components to the same temperature as the oil in the hydraulic tank.For this series of tests, the cylinders on the right side of the machine are blocked. Use Blocking Plate Assemblies in the rod end of the lift cylinder, tilt cylinder and auxiliary cylinder. Install the assemblies as fast as possible to keep oil loss to a minimum.
