3412E (S/N: 9KS206-291)
The control panel that is mounted on 3412E Marine Engines with the above serial numbers may have an internal connection that causes the panel to remain powered when the engine is shut down. The panel should not remain on when the engine is shut down. The control panels may have a wire that connects the switched circuit breaker to one of the unswitched circuit breakers in the above engines. The control panel is directly connected to the "+ Battery", when the engine is shut down. Also, any activated indicator lamps that were not cleared will remain on.Use the following procedure in order to remove the wire from the unswitched circuit breaker.
Remove the six screws from the cover plate for the control panel.
Locate the 120-1-Yellow wire that connects the switched circuit breaker to the unswitched circuit breaker.
Remove the wire. Tape the end of the wire, and place the wire out of the way.
Replace the cover to the control panel.Refer to 3412E Schematic, SENR5030 for more information.
