Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the left side engine side guard.

Remove bolt (3). Disconnect harness assemblies (2). Cut cable strap (1).

Remove bolts (4) and electronic control module (5).

Remove bolts (7) and control bracket (9).
Remove engine oil filter (10).
Remove bolts (6) and engine oil filter base (8).

Typical example
Remove bolts (12) and remove the brackets for the tube assemblies. Remove oil cooler (11) from the cylinder block.Note: The bolts are different lengths. Note the position of the different bolts. Note the location and the orientation of the brackets for the tube assemblies.
Remove gasket (13) (not shown).Disassembly Procedure

Remove nuts (17) from oil cooler (11).
Remove cooler matrix (14) from housing (16).
Remove gaskets (15).Assembly Procedure

Ensure that cooler matrix (14) and housing (16) are clean and free from damage. Replace any damaged components.
Install new gaskets (15) to cooler matrix (14).
Install cooler matrix (14) to housing (16).
Install nuts (17) to oil cooler (11). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).Installation Procedure
Install oil cooler (11) and engine oil filter base (8) in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in) in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 7.
Tighten bolts (6), (7), and (4) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 5 N m (44 lb in).
