Whenever the machine's electronic components fail to function and no diagnostic code is available, check the appropriate fuse for that component and check all associated circuit breakers. An open transmission fuse does not result in a recorded diagnostic code in the ECM. However, the open fuse can cause the diagnostic code CID 0248 FMI 02 to be logged. This diagnostic code would be shown on the Caterpillar Monitoring System. The module identifier for this diagnostic code would be MID 30.
