Ejector Rod End Pressure Sensor located on the left side of the Implement Valve
Locate the Rod End Pressure sensor on the Implement valve.
Ensure that the sensor is installed properly in the valve and is plugged in.Expected Result:The sensor is installed and plugged in correctly.Results:
YES - Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - The sensor is not installed correctly.Repair: Install the sensor properly and confirm Auto Return now stops at the end of cylinder travel.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE EJECTOR ROD END SENSOR OUTPUTCat ET will be used for this procedure. The battery disconnect and Key Start switch should be in the ON position.

Communication Adapter, Cables, and Cat ET Software
Connect a laptop and a Communication Adapter to the machine. The laptop must have the latest version of Cat ET software. Refer to the Troubleshooting, "Service Tools" section of this manual.
Select the "Implement ECM" and press "OK"

Status Screen
Navigate through the status screens and select "Ejector Function".
Start the machine and run at high idle.
Use Auto Return to return the Ejector to the end of cylinder travel.
Observe the Ejector Cylinder Rod End Pressure on the Cat ET status screen.Expected Result:The pressure reading is below the Auto Return stop pressures given at the beginning of this procedure.Results:
YES - The pressure reading was below the Auto Return stop pressure causing the Auto Return function to remain ON after the end of cylinder travel. Proceed to test step 3.
NO - The pressure reading was above the given Auto Return stop pressure, but the Auto Return function remained ON after the end of cylinder travel.Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the same faulty activity of the Ejector Auto Return is present, the ECM may have failed. Prior to replacing an ECM, always contact your dealership Technical Communicator for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time. If the ECM requires replacement, See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace" section of this manual for additional information.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE PRESSURE AT THE PUMP

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing
