Removal Procedure
Note: Do not damage the taper or the threads of socket assembly (3) during removal and installation of the steering link.Note: Front wheel has been removed for clarity.

Remove cotter pin (7) from nut (6). Loosen nut (6) until the nut is even with the end of the threaded rod of socket assembly (3). Strike nut (6) with a soft faced hammer in order to loosen the socket assembly. Remove nut (6) from socket assembly (3) .
Repeat Step 1 in order to disengage the remaining side of steering link (1). Note the position of clamp (2) for installation purposes. Remove steering link (1) from wheel spindle housing (8) .
Remove plastic washer (5) and remove seal boot (4) from each socket assembly (3). Installation Procedure

Make sure that all the parts of the steering link (1) are clean prior to assembling the steering link. During the installation of steering link (1), check the condition of the seal boots and the plastic washers. Replace damaged parts or worn parts with new parts.
Lubricate seal boots (4) with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease. Install seal boots (4) and washers (5) to socket assemblies (3) on both ends of the steering link.
Position steering link (1) to wheel spindle housing (8). Install socket assemblies (3) to wheel spindle housings (8). Be sure that clamp (2) is positioned correctly.
Install two nuts (6) .Note: Refer to Specifications, "Front Axle" for the correct torque specification.
After steering link (1) is installed, the front wheel toe-in must be adjusted. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Axle Toe-In (Front) - Adjust" for the correct adjustment procedure.
Tighten nuts on clamps (2) .Note: Refer to Specifications, "Front Axle" for the correct torque specification.
