When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

Make sure that the pin bores in the stick cylinder, the boom, and the stick are clean and free of dirt prior to the installation of the stick cylinder.

Attach a suitable lifting device to stick cylinder (5). The weight of stick cylinder (5) is approximately 159 kg (350 lb). Position stick cylinder (5) .
Apply Tooling (F) to the surface of pin assembly (9). Position stick cylinder (5) and install any shims that were present, pin assembly (9), and spacer (8). Install the washer and bolt (10).
Connect hose assemblies (6) and (7) .

Lower stick cylinder (5) into position. Apply Tooling (F) to the surface of pin assembly (3). Install any shims that were present, pin assembly (3), and spacer (4). Install the washer and bolt (2) .
Connect hose assembly (1) .
Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".
Remove Tooling (A) .
