Introduction
The 374D and 390D Excavators are shipped with the stick and boom detached. It will be necessary to calibrate the Boom Regeneration Valve and Stick Regeneration Valve on the effected machines. Refer to Table 1.
Table 1
Calibration Effectivity - Calibrate These Machines Upon Delivery
Model    Effectivity
374D     S/N:PAP206-UP

390D     S/N:WAG183-UP
S/N:WAP334-UP
S/N:WBT204-UP
S/N:KCZ158-UP If the machine is equipped with BLCV with Smartboom, it will be necessary to calibrate the Boom Lowering Check Valve. If the SLCV attachment is installed, it will be necessary to calibrate the Stick Lowering Check Valve. Both check valves must be calibrated to ensure proper performance.Hydraulic Cylinder Purge Procedure
After installing the boom and/or stick, the air must be purged from the cylinders.
Set the engine speed indicator in position 1. Keep the setting throughout the procedure.
Slowly extend and retract the cylinder through approximately 75% of full cylinder travel. Repeat the sequence of cylinder extension and cylinder retraction two times. The cylinders must not be allowed to bottom out in either direction. Delay at least 4 seconds before the direction of the cylinder travel is reversed.
Slowly extend and retract the cylinder through approximately 90% of full cylinder travel. Repeat the sequence of cylinder extension and cylinder retraction six times. The cylinders must not be allowed to bottom out in either direction. Delay at least 4 seconds before the direction of the cylinder travel is reversed.
Slowly extend and retract the cylinder through full cylinder travel. Repeat the sequence of full cylinder travel two times. Do not allow hydraulic pressure to increase at the end of travel. Delay at least 4 seconds before the direction of the cylinder travel is reversed.
Check and maintain the level of the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic tank. After the completion of the procedure, no additional special handling is necessary.Calibration
Note: Make sure all of the hydraulic lines are properly attached.Perform the required calibration using the machine monitor. Refer to Calibration, KENR8955, "374D and 390D Machine Electronic Control System".
