Lower the temperature of bearings (9). Use Tooling (D) to install bearings (9). Install bearings (9) to a dimension of 7.2 0.4 mm (0.29 0.016 inch) below the surface of axle assembly (2). Apply Tooling (E) to the inside diameter of bearing (9). Install seals (8).

Attach a suitable lifting device to axle assembly (2).

Install washers (7) to obtain a maximum gap of 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) between axle assembly (2) and the front frame. Lubricate pin assembly (6) with Tooling (E). Install pin assembly (6). Install bolt (5). Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 90 15 N m (66 11 lb ft).

Install Tooling (C). Use Tooling (B) to lower axle assembly (2) on Tooling (C). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (B).

Connect hose assemblies (3) and (4).

Install all the hardware on the hose assemblies to axle assembly (2). Connect hose assemblies (1).

Remove Tooling (A) from the hydraulic tank.
Check the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.End By:
Install the wheels and the tires from both sides of the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel and Tire - Remove and Install".
